Year 2017
In 2017 I was chosen by Henry Bloom Noble Primary school in the Isle of Man out of many other artists to create a permanent mural within the school, this acted as a 3 month Artist Residency within the school.
During my time here, I regularly helped the students with Art Club, held assemblies, and worked in a classroom so that the children could see what I was created day by day.
There was no specific brief held in place, I decided to set homework for all students within the school asking them design what they would like to see. The school also had a rewards system named GRIT, and so using the school’s colours (purple, yellow, blue) and the rewards system, I created an abstract pattern for each for GRIT represented.
For this mural I had to design each individual piece digitally, and then measure out a 15 metre length of MDF, cutting each individual piece. I then primed, painted and mounted the pieces onto a wall.
More pictures of this mural will be coming soon.
